The National Testing Agency (NTA) has unveiled the JEE Main 2024 notification, providing aspiring candidates with insights into the updated syllabus for the academic year 2024. This year's syllabus differs from previous years, with several topics and chapters being omitted. Some topics, not found in the NCERT syllabus, have made their way into the JEE Main 2024 syllabus. Conversely, certain topics present in the NCERT syllabus have been excluded from the JEE Main 2024 syllabus.

Here is the list of topics, that are present in NCERT and have been deleted from the NEET UG 2024 syllabus: -

  • Plotting a cooling curve for the relationship between the temperature of a hot body and time
  • Potentiometer: Comparison of EMF of two primary cells and determination of internal resistance of a cell
  • Characteristic curves of a transistor and finding current gain and voltage gain
  • Using a multimeter to: 1. Identify the base of a transistor, 2. Distinguish between NPN and PNP type transistors, 3. See the unidirectional current in case of a diode and an LED, 4. Check the correctness or otherwise of a given electronic component (diode, transistor, or IC)

Candidates can check the following list of topics, that have been added to the JEE Main 2024 Physics syllabus:

  • Relative Velocity
  • Conservation of Mechanical Energy
  • Parallel and perpendicular theorems
  • Logic Gates

Overall feedback: A full-length chapter from the Physics syllabus is not deducted. Only certain topics have been removed from the Physics syllabus for the JEE Main 2024 academic session.
